Driver Education

 

In case of a major pandemic event, student assignments are as follows for this course:

 

First Six Weeks

 

I. Week One (Use Textbook, License to Drive)

  1. Read Chapter 2 in text.
  2. Define and write definitions for key terms on page 24.
  3. Complete Self Test on pages 43 & 44.
  4. Read Chapter 3 in textbook.
  5. Define and write definitions for Key Terms on page 47.
  6. Complete Self Test on pages 65-66.

 

II. Week Two (Use Tennessee Drivers Study Guide)

A.     Read Chapters 1-3.

B.     Study and know the road signs—know the shapes, colors and meaning of each sign.

 

III. Week Three (Use Tennessee Drivers Study Guide)

A.     Read Chapters 4 and 5.

B.     Be familiar with School Bus laws, two second rule, highway lane markings, and entering and exiting the interstate.

 

IV. Week Four (Use Tennessee Drivers Study Guide)

A.     Read Chapters 6 and 7.

B.     Be familiar with DUI laws, implied consent law, reasons for losing drivers license, and procedures if involved in an accident.

 

V. Week Five (Use Textbook, License to Drive)

            A. Read Chapter 4.

            B. Define and write definitions for Key Terms on page 72.

            C. Complete Self Test on page 90 & 91.

            D. Read Chapter 6.

            E. Define and write definitions for Key Terms on page 122.

            F. Complete Self Test on pages 140 & 141.

 

VI. Week Six (Use Textbook, License to Drive)

            A. Read Chapter 7
            B. Define and write definitions for Key Terms on page 146.

            C. Complete Self Test on pages 170 & 171.

            D. Read chapter 8,

            E. Define and write definitions for Key Terms on page 173

F. Complete Self Test on pages 195 & 196.

 

 

Second and Third Six Weeks

 

During these two six weeks, the focus is on driving. Drive as much as possible with a parent. Keep the following log of your driving:

 

A.     Date

B.     Amount of time driving

C.    Type of road on which your were driving (interstate, within town, country road)

D.    Type of conditions while driving (day, night, raining, fog, sunny)

E.     Number of miles driven
